A young teen is still in a serious condition in Beaumont hospital after days of mayhem and chaos at the hands of one of Dublin’s youngest gangs.
As many as 30 armed youths left the kid with two skull fractures and internal bleeding following a vicious Baldoyle attack where they used a hammer as a weapon.
The assault took place in broad daylight on Tuesday with the youngster suffering injuries to his hands and torso as the poor victim tried his best to protect himself from the horrific beating.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to the assault or anyone with information in relation to it to contact them immediately.
Dublin Live understands that the dangerous and fearless group involved are thought to be the same ones who carried out a large attack on an off-duty guard the day before in Portmarnock.
Brave neighbours fought off the gang of up to 30 people on Monday who threatened to kill a young man and “slash” them.
The young man barricaded himself in the porch of a cocooning elderly couple who feared for their lives as the thugs threatened the man.
An off duty garda and his son were attacked as heroic locals intervened to stop the gang, who had cycled from Darndale to Portmarnock after singling out another youngster on his bike from nearby Clarehall and threatening to kill him.
The off-duty garda and his son were punched while another brave neighbour was bitten by the yobs as gardai swarmed the area.
Local councillor Brian McDonagh has condemned the attacks as “savagery”.
He told Dublin Live: “This cannot be allowed to be normalised. The people responsible need to be caught and need to be punished.
“This assault is so serious I’m sure the guards and the courts can and will deal with it.
“I’m concerned that there’s a pattern and I would be very anxious that the guards treat this with the utmost seriousness and look to identify who is responsible and get them off the streets as quickly as possible irrespective of their age because that’s an extremely serious assault.”
The Labour Party rep also appealed for anyone with any information on either attack to contact gardai.
“Out of that group there are probably a number of whom who are horrified by what has happened and they are realising the seriousness of what they’ve been hanging around the edges of.

“I think that if any of them have any decency they will contact the gardai anonymously or otherwise and they will let them know who is responsible for the attack.”
A garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live they are investigating the Baldoyle attack.
She said: “Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault which occurred in the Baldoyle area, Dublin 13 on the 19 May 2020 at approximately 5:00pm.
“A male youth in his teens received non life threatening injuries and was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment.”
