Motorists are being advised to avoid a major Dublin motorway due to long delays this afternoon.

One Dublin Live reader who has been stuck on the M4 told us traffic is backed up from Junction 6 Celbridge West to Junction 8 Clane, Kilcock with queues stretching back for miles.

Gardai continue to man checkpoints across the country as part of Operation Fanacht with people reminded that all non-essential travel over 5km is not permitted under Level 5 coronavirus restrictions.

Commuters are also advised that a busy city centre rail station is closed today due to “resignalling works” today.

There will be no services going through Connolly Station today as part of Irish Rail’s major City Centre Resignalling Project.

Works for the project will take place over the next three weeks as the station will also on November 7, 8, 14, and 15.

There will also be some service alterations to DART and commuter routes during this period.
