Smyths Toys Ireland is advising parents to shop early for Christmas amid global shipping issues and container shortages.

Even though we are only in the middle of September, a number of companies are urging shoppers to buy their gifts early due to supply problems and an increase in shipping costs.

Smyths Toys, one of the country’s leading toy retailers, has now issued a statement telling customers that this year it is particularly important to get a head start on Christmas shopping.

A spokesperson for Smyths told RSVP Live: “Smyths Toys advises you to shop early for Christmas. This is always a good idea so as to avoid the rush and to avoid disappointment. It is particularly important to shop early this year as global shipping and container shortages are causing supply issues in many parts of our lives.”

The spokesperson went on to say that a brand new catalogue detailing stock and prices will be free to pick up in stores later this month.

They added: “We encourage you to sign up to our catalogue now or drop instore from 24th September to pick up your FREE 300 page Smyths Toys catalogue. This will give you the time to make those key gift decisions.”

The top toys on kids wishlists for this Christmas have already been revealed, with Smyths predicting that PAW Patrol products will be in high demand following the release of a new movie based on the Nickelodeon TV series.

Super Mario Lego, L.O.L dolls, and ranges from Coco Melon, Barbie, Bluey and Ryan’s World are also expected to be popular with kids this year.

Smyths Toys free catalogue will be available to pick up free in stores on September 24th.
