The Late Late returns to our screens tonight – with host Ryan Tubridy promising a bumper season.
He has vowed to take Ireland’s most-watched TV programme up a notch with big-name bookings, gripping stories and a special live show in London.
The fun kicks off with a stellar line-up boasting some of the biggest Irish stories of the summer.
Ireland’s women’s hockey team will discuss their unforgettable run to the world cup final while Limerick hurling boss John Kiely, captain Declan Hannon and fitness coach Joe O’Connor will discuss the county’s first All-Ireland victory in 45 years.
After their success at the European Championships, gymnast Rhys McClenaghan, hurdler Thomas Barr and para swimmer Ellen Keane will relive their medal hauls.
And another hero, Co Clare-based cave diver Jim Warny, will give viewers a dramatic insight into his role in the rescue of a young Thai soccer team.
Carlow Rose Shauna Ray Lacey will reflect on her appearance at last month’s festival in Tralee where she talked about her parents’ heroin battle.
Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan will be talking about US President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to Ireland and all things Brexit.
And music will come from James Vincent McMorrow and Beverley Craven, singing her 90s hit Promise Me.
This is Tubs’ 10th years as Late Late presenter and he will bring the show to London on October 12 to mark the impact Irish people have had in Britain.
He said: “If you are part of that community and have a story to tell, we want to hear from you.”
Tickets for the UK show, which is set to have 1,000 people in its studio audience, are being allocated online.
In the last series Tubs got to interview Hillary Clinton but could 2018 be the year of the Beatle?
The host revealed recently how he travelled to Liverpool to see Paul McCartney perform a secret gig at the Cavern Club to just 250 people. He admitted he was just “about four or five rows away” from the legend.
This summer, McCartney joined US Late Late Show host James Corden for his London edition of Carpool Karaoke but perhaps he’s also geared up for an appearance on the RTE series.
The countdown to this year’s Late Late Toy Show is around the corner and thousands of fans will be scrambling for tickets to the Christmas extravaganza.
It’s likely the special episode will air on November 30 or December 7 as the festive season gets under way.
Tubs has said this year’s show is going to be “particularly enormous”.
He told listeners on his RTE Radio One programme: “It’s going to be huge. And I look forward to that.”
Last year Tubridy pulled out all the stops donning a Sebastian costume for the Little Mermaid-themed opening number to entertain around 1.3 million viewers.
* The Late Late Show is on RTE One tonight at 9.35pm.
