Matt Damon has quickly become one of the locals in Dalkey, and his generosity has shone once again in an amazing way.
A special video message from the Oscar winning Hollywood star has been sent to the 6th year class in Loreto Abbey, Dalkey.
Due to Covid restrictions, they’ve been out of school and today would have been their final day in their journey toward adult life.
And their teachers organised a special surprise with Dalkey’s lockdown local, who was more than happy to oblige.
In the video message, shared by journalist Flor Mac Carthy, the 49-year-old said: “Hey this is Matt Damon, I wanted to say congratulations to the Loreto Abbey graduating class of 2020.
“You guys are awesome, and I’m sorry you have to do all this from quarantine. But congratulations, what an achievement, and good for you guys. I’m thinkin’ about ya.”
The Jason Bourne series star has been spotted by crafty Dalkey locals recently enjoying the scenic seaside suburb.
He was due to film a new Ridley Scott directed flick, The Last Duel, here this month but filming was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Matt Damon has said his Irish quarantine is “like a fairytale” and hailed the beauty of Dalkey.
Mark agrees that it is a stunning place.
He said: “I can’t imagine a better place in the world at any stage, let alone during a pandemic.
“Usually I live in London so this is the closest thing to Innisfree I have been for quite some time!
“For Hollywood actors I suspect it’s the perfect place, nobody would bother the Hollywood actors for a picture, unless they’re an annoying person with a podcast like me!”
Speaking about lockdown life in Dalkey, he said: “This is one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been.
“I’m with my whole family, I’ve got my kids, and we have teachers with us because we were planning on missing school for about 8 weeks.
“So we’ve got what nobody else has which is actual live human beings teaching our kids, the schools are all shut down back home and all the kids are doing remote learning.
“So we feel guilty, we’ve got this kind of incredible set up in this place, it’s just absolutely gorgeous.”
