Locals have spoken of living in fear as a gang of up to 20 kids has been terrorising a Dublin estate.
This shocking video, which was taken today, shows a group of kids hurling vile abuse while threatening to hit residents with crutches at the Parnell Estate in Mulhuddart.
Resident, Tomasz Lewandowski, told Dublin Live of how his sons and his wife, who took the video, were physically attacked and had racial slurs hurled at them.
He said: “We’ve lived here for the last seven or eight years. For the past few days, it’s just been constant abuse.
“I think they come here because we have the only playground in the area. A lot of kids come here and terrorise the kids who actually live here.”
The dad-of-three said it all came to head today when he came home to see his wife crying and their sons shaking with fear.
He said: “My middle son was hit in the ribs. He ran home to tell us about it. My oldest son and my wife went out to look for the children to tell them to leave the estate. And that’s when all hell broke loose.
“The kids insulted her and threw racial slurs. They told her to go back to her own country. My wife is from South Korea. They called her names and it’s hard to even say those words.
“My son, who is 12, was punched in the face. Then he was pushed to the ground by three other kids.
“They knocked the phone out of my wife’s hands. They had crutches, I don’t know where they got it from. They were threatening to hit her with them.”
An angry Tomasz rang the gardai and went out to tell the kids to leave the estate.
He said: “I went out to tell them to leave the estate. And the words they used… It’s just unbelievable. You wouldn’t dream of saying them.
“As soon as I said I called the guards and they’re on the way, they started running. But some of them said, ‘Let them come. What are they going to do to us?’
“They came back later on and were arguing with one of the mothers here. I stepped out again to tell them to leave but they just completely ignored me. They have no respect and they didn’t apologise or anything.”
Tomasz said that other families have also been subjected to horrific verbal abuse and physical violence.
“A seven or eight-year-old boy was beaten up by those thugs. Then yesterday a mother who was trying to protect her kid was jumped on and choked from behind by the kids. So that’s how bad it’s getting.
“Nobody should feel afraid or discriminated against. In 2021, things like this should never happen.”
Dublin Live has contacted the gardai for a statement.
