A gun, drugs and a stolen motorcycle are among a number of items that have been seized as gardai clamp down on organised crime in west Dublin.

Gardai from Finglas and Blanchardstown have been targeting the Dunsink area with a series of raids in recent weeks.

Brave officers have discovered a suspected grow house in the area and seized quantities of ketamine and cannabis as well as the firearm in separate searches.

The huge multi-agency operation has also seen almost 200 end of life vehicles removed from the area.

A garda spokesperson said: “These multi-agency operations involved local and national based Garda Units including the Dog Unit, Water Unit, Air Support Unit and the Armed Support Unit along with personnel from Fingal County Council, Dublin City Council, Revenue Customs and the ESB.

“During the operations gardai discovered a ‘grow house’ and recovered a firearm, a stolen motorcycle and quantities of ketamine and cannabis.

“The local authority removed almost 200 end of life vehicles from the area. The motorcycle has since been returned to its owner. Investigations are continuing.”
