This is the moment a shocking brawl that broke out between a number of young women on Luas tracks in the city centre this evening.

The row broke out at the Jervis Street stop shortly after 6:30 pm.

Footage of the scrap shows two women exchanging blows as they spill out on to the tram tracks.

Brave Luas security staff quickly rush in to separate the two warring women as a number of others come into view.

Another woman then picks up what one witness told Dublin Live appeared to be a bottle and throws it at the head of one of the original two fighters.

A number of other people can be seen surrounding the group, some of whom have their phones out and are filming the frightening scenes.

It is not known if further action was taken against the women following the altercation.

Dublin Live has contacted gardai and Luas operator Transdev for comment.
