Conor McGregor was filmed buying a bottle of his own Proper 12 whiskey while ignoring Level 5 COVID guidelines.

The UFC star was being Proper irresponsible as he was not wearing a mask during the national lockdown.

The footage which was uploaded to his Instagram last night shows McGregor waiting at a till in Gala in Straffan, County Kildare.

The man behind the counter is protected by plexiglass and a mask, COVID guideline posters are also clearly visible beside the till.

For the full duration of the video McGregor is not wearing a mask despite it being mandatory by law to wear them in shops in Ireland.

People found not wearing a mask can be fined €80 and refusal to pay that faces punishments up to a further fine of €1000 or a month’s imprisonment.

However, in the video McGregor joked with the staff and acted surprised with the €35 price tag on the bottle, he also asked for a receipt.

He said: “You’re selling Proper 12. How’s it going? How’s the sales going? I really appreciate it, it means a lot to see the support.

“It’s not that long since you’ve been selling it here, no? We’ll get you a display.”

But social media users took offence to the video.

One Twitter user said: “How do you donate so much money to hospitals for ICU beds and PPE in the country (so he says dunno if it actually happened) and still not wear a mask?”

Meanwhile another said: “Fella calls for the army to close the borders, has 5 holidays a year and can’t wear masks into shops.”
